About Deborah McKellar
Mixed-media artist Deborah McKellar’s multi-layered artworks are known for their highly textured surfaces. Shining metallics, rich silks, painterly splashes, silkscreen prints and explorative mark-making blend together to form their own unique visual language.
Born in South Africa in 1981, Deborah spent her childhood in Johannesburg. At age 20, she moved to Singapore and has made it her home since.
Through her art, Deborah’s desire is to share the beauty of light in darkness, recognising that art is essential to the well-being of the spirit.

麦凯拉早期的作品反映了她在东南亚寻找归属感的探索，这些创作以她南非背景的大胆视角来诠释。如今，她的艺术实践更多转向个人与精神层面的探索——在黑暗中传递光明，并强调艺术对心灵的重要性。
