Artwork Description

Monsoon Forest shows both close up images of trees as well as distant “forestscapes”.  All the photographs used in this artwork were taken from the rainforest here in Singapore.

Monsoon Forest has been created on a wood surface, this woody texture is reflective of the subject matter itself.

This forest is shown during a monsoon rain. I love the veil that heavy rain creates. Visions are softened and a mysterious calm is created. Blue tones are seen, as the heat of the forest lifts and a vapoury mist rises over the tree tops. Vertical lines, mimicking the rain, cover much of the surface of my canvas . These vertical lines create a semi-translucent veil of white which adds to the peaceful atmosphere of this artwork.

《季风雨林》展示了树木的近景影像，也描绘了远处的“森林景观”。作品中使用的照片均取自新加坡的雨林。

《季风雨林》绘制在木质底板上，而木纹的质感正好呼应了作品的主题本身。

这片森林展现的是季风雨中的景象。我喜爱大雨带来的薄雾般的帷幕感，视野被柔化，同时营造出一种神秘而宁静的氛围。随着森林的热气升腾，树梢上方升起一层薄薄的雾气，画面中呈现出蓝色的色调。垂直的线条，如同雨丝般覆盖了画布的大部分表面。这些垂直线条形成了一层半透明的白色帷幕，为作品增添了宁静祥和的氛围。
