Artwork Description
Working with traditional Japanese textiles I have cut the original fabric into these tiny blocks & lines that have then been slowly stitched onto the canvas.
I am interested in different perspectives and the way we see things.
By taking this fabric apart I hope to encourage the viewer to see again. To cherish and value the traditional motifs and colours that are found here. I feel that the pixilated design also breathes new life into the traditional motifs and moves them into the present day.
