Artwork Description

“The Garden City” series mixes Peranakan porcelain & lush foliage. The vision for Singapore is to be a city that is not only functional but also beautiful. This can easily be seen just by looking at all the lush foliage that contrasts with the structures of skyscrapers. The geometric patterns such as the hexagon & pixilated squares mimic the structures of the cities architecture.

A ‘Garden City’ is not just utilitarian, it is a place that flourishes largely due to its beauty. Like beautiful artworks, a beautiful natural environment  plays an important role in our mental health and overall well-being.

《花园城市》系列的作品将娘惹瓷器元素与繁茂的植物相融合。新加坡的愿景是成为一座不仅功能完善、同时也充满美感的城市。只要环顾四周，便能看到繁盛的绿植与高楼大厦的结构形成鲜明对比，这一点显而易见。作品中的几何图案，如六边形与像素化方块，则呼应了城市建筑的结构与节奏。

“花园城市” 不仅仅是实用的空间, 它的蓬勃生机在很大的程度上源于其美感。正如精美的艺术作品，美丽的自然环境对于我们的心理健康与幸福感扮演着重要角色。
